While the bare minimum for general warehouse areas is 110 lux, OSHA and industry standards suggest aiming for 100-400 lux, depending on what’s going on in different parts of the warehouse. Lighting needs can really vary based on how the warehouse is laid out, the type of racking you have, aisle widths, ceiling heights, and what tasks are being done in each zone. The Society of Light and Lighting recommends keeping things between 150 lux and 200 lux, with a max of 300 lux. But hey, don’t be surprised if some warehouses go over 300 lux if that’s what it takes to get the job done right.
